Frequently asked questions
Is the seating chart tool really free?
Creating and downloading your seating chart is free, with no guest limit or account requirement. A free account adds cloud backup and cross-device access. Professionally printed signs are optional paid products.
Do I need to create an account?
Create and download your chart without an account. Sign in to back it up and continue on another device. Check the save status before closing the editor.
Can I import my guest list?
Yes. Paste directly from a spreadsheet (Excel, Google Sheets, etc.) and we'll auto-detect columns. You can also add guests manually one by one.
What table shapes are supported?
Round, rectangular, head, sweetheart, U-shape, L-shape and standing cocktail tables. Change the name, shape, size and rotation. Sweetheart tables have two seats; cocktail tables are standing areas without assigned seats.
Can I use this on my phone?
Yes. Use Guests to add names and assign tables, Tables to edit shapes and seats, and Review to check unseated guests and seating rules. Room and venue details lets you change the room size, add venue areas or upload a floor-plan background without dragging.
How do I export my seating chart?
Open Export to download your venue layout as a PNG, or your seating sign, table cards, guest lookup list and meal reports as PDFs. Personalize the free seating sign with your names, date and a design style. No account is required for downloads. Physical printing is optional and paid.
Will my work be saved if I close the browser?
The editor saves to this browser when storage is available. Check for 'Saved in this browser' before closing the tab. Clearing browser data or using private browsing can remove this copy. For cross-device backup, sign in and wait for 'Backed up to your account'. You can also download your chart at any time.
Can I print at home or use names in other languages?
Choose A4, A3, US Letter or a larger poster size for your free seating sign. Long names wrap, and guest lookup lists and table cards can span multiple pages. Some languages use your device's fonts as images in free PDFs, so check the preview. Download CSV for editable names in every language. Physical print orders use separate font checks and may not support every script.
Can I save an editable backup without an account?
Yes. In the download menu, open Editable backup and restore to download a recovery JSON. Restore that file there later to recover your guests, layout, rules and saved plans. Keep it private because it contains your guest details. PDF and PNG files are for viewing or printing, not restoring the editor.
